Deformation-stimulated luminescence of a KBr crystal matrix

Radiative relaxations of electronic excitations - self-trapped excitons (STE) in regular lattice sites (intrinsic luminescence) and exciton-like formations (ELF) the field homologous cations (exciton-like luminescence). It has been found that maximum effect luminescence enhancement occurs upon uniaxial deformation along <110> crystallographic direction (compared to <100>), which coincides with anion exciton (<110>) KBr crystal matrix. The mechanism was estimated from increase intensity intrinsic s(4, 42eV) p(2, 3eV) luminescences STE, near-single Na + (2.85 eV), pair ions , (3.1 eV) Pb ++ (3.4 eV)- centers recombination radiative relaxation excitations.
